Black and White - Emerging Powers is the second main expansion of the Black and White series. It was released on August 11, 2011 and contained 98 cards. It was the first set to feature Gigalith and its line !

A promo version of this Gigalith card with the expansion logo on the illustration was available at the prerelease event, a gold foil with the print "staff" was given to the staff of the event.
In Japan, there was also one with the Gym Challenge logo, which was given in packs of ten random cards at the February 2011 Gym Challenge. A Cracked Ice holo version of this card exists too.
