[Set] Boldore - Eviolite

Image
This Boldore is offensive and can assist its team with Stealth Rock. Rock Blast can pass through Substitutes, Focus Sashes and Sturdy. Earthquake allows to hit more Pokemon. Toxic can reduce the staying power of the opponent's stallers. With the Eviolite, Boldore will take physical hits well.  However, be wary of Boldore's low Speed, weaknesses and lack of recovery. Be wary of Knock Off too. Variants - Use Stone Edge over Rock Blast. - Use Superpower or Explosion over Toxic. - You can also try to use Boldore more defensively, but its lack of recovery and weaknesses are a problem. [Set] Roggenrola - LC

Image
This Roggenrola will support its team with Stealth Rock, Sturdy and the Berry Juice makes it easier. It's an offensive support, Rock Blast can pass through Sturdy, Substitutes and Focus Sashes. With Earthquake, it forms an EdgeQuake move core that can hit a lot of Pokemon. However, be wary to its low Speed and Special Defense, and its five weaknesses. Variants -Use Endure, Protect or Explosion over Body Press. Endure will allow Roggenrola to take a hit even if it doesn't have all its HP, and the Berry Juice will be activated. -Use Stone Edge or Rock Tomb over Rock Blast. -Use its Ability Weak Armor. [Set] RestTalk + Curse

Image
This Gigalith has an advantage over the others : it can heal itself. With Curse, it will raise its Attack and Defense stats and can become hard to knock out. That will make it loose Speed, but that's not a very big problem as Gigalith is already very slow. When you feel the need to heal, use Rest. Sleep Talk is here to not stay inactive during the two turns of sleep, it will be able to set up or attack with Stone Edge. However, this set can be a bit hard to set up because of Gigalith's weaknesses, its counters should be knocked out before. Also, you can't control what your Gigalith will do when you use Sleep Talk. In the worst cases, it could use Rest although it's already sleeping, which will make it fail and you will basically loose a turn ! And, be wary of Stone Edge's low PP, when they run out, Gigalith won't have any way to do damage. Variants -Use a more offensive EV spread. -Replace Curse with Earthquake. -Use another item, for example a Lum Berry to sk

[Set] Choice Band

Image
This Gigalith, with the Choice Band and its 135 Attack base stat, is made to hit hard. It's a regular Bulky Band set, with four offensive moves. This time, I chose Superpower over Body Press as the goal is to make the more damage possible. Be wary of its lack of recovery, weaknesses and very low speed. Also, it can be easily manageable for the opponent once it's locked on a move. This Gigalith doesn't have Stealth Rock, so having a partner with it could be good. Variants - Replace Iron Head by Heavy Slam - Replace Superpower by Body Press if you don't want to lose attack and defense, but it will hit less hard.  - Use it with Throat Chop

My Gigalith line collection

Image
I started collecting Gigalith line items about 2 years ago, when I ordered my Attacking Pose Pokemon Kids figure. The only Gigalith line items I had before were cards from my childhood, and a custom plushie (a plush was the first item I looked for but I couldn't find one at the time). At the beginning, I was focused only on Gigalith then I included Roggenrola and Boldore. My goal is to have every merch for all the line, but some are hard to find. Plushies My Gigalith plush is my most treasured item, even if it's not the rarest I own. Look how cute and cuddly it is ! I can't stop petting him. It was my first plush for the line and the first item I wanted, and I had to import it from Japan because I couldn't find one elsewhere. I got it for cheap, but there were more cost for the delivery than for the plush. I got Boldore then Roggenrola later, without having to import them. Figures Here are my figures ! There is the Attacking Pose Kids figure I talked about, I was lucky

[Headcanon] A Gigalith's anatomy

Image
Here is a little headcanon, I imagined how the interior of a Gigalith could look. As it's only a headcanon, it's nothing official. An idea of the interior of a Gigalith. Blue lines represent empty spaces, red lines represent muscles;  -When a Gigalith eats, the food are stocked into some sort of pocket then converted into energy by special crystlas located inside the Gigalith's body. This energy is then distributed everywhere in the Gigalith's body, circulating in the empty spaces. All the rests are evacuated.  The energy coming from the sun is absorbed by the red crystals and is also distributed to the core and the body.  -Exposing a Gigalith's energy core would cause the energy to overflow very brutally and would kill the Gigalith. The way between the core and the mouth only opens when it attacks. -The mouth is used both to eat and to fire off attacks with the energy. The food and energy don't take the same way as the food has to go into the stomach first.

Ash' Boldore

Image
In the Black and White era of the anime, a Boldore was under the ownership of Ash, who caught it as a Roggenrola. It was his first Rock type. Here is its story. As a Roggenrola This Boldore debuted as a Roggenrola, in BW034 : Gotta Catch a Roggenrola ! where it helped Ash and his friends saving the other fourteen Roggenrola of its group from Team Rocket. At the beginning, it escaped and crashed into Cilan's food. Ash battled it with Oshawott and Tepig but lost to it, Roggenrola using a bowl to return one of Oshawott's attack back to sender. Later, when Ash and his friends came investigating a tunnel, they met it again and found Team Rocket catching other Roggenrola to power a cannon.  Team Rocket's Roggenrola cannon They saved it from being caught too, but Team Rocket managed to fire a powerful Flash Cannon. They escaped the tunnel and later found Team Rocket in a warehouse were Ash and Roggenrola managed to rescue all the other Roggenrola, then defeated Team Rocket. After

Appearances in the anime

Image
Here are the appearances the Gigalith line made in the anime. This doesn't include Ash' Boldore/Roggenrola who has another page dedicated to it. Gigalith  Gigalith's first and main appearance in the anime was in  BW054: Ash Versus the Champion!  It was rampaging around in a town. Alder tried to calm it down by offering it an apple, but Gigalith tackled him. When Gigalith charged a second time, Alder tossed it away, and Gigalith landed upside down. They saw that a nail was stuck on its feet, causing Gigalith's rampage. Alder pulled it out and healed Gigalith. Later, Gigalith protected Officer Jenny from a statue falling down on her. At the end, Alder fed Gigalith and Jenny took it back in the wild. Gigalith's rampage Gigalith isn't interested by the apple... The nail stuck in Gigalith's feet The others appearances Gigalith made were very quick. In BW106 : Strong Strategy Steals the Show ! A Gigalith was used by Kenton during the fourth round of the Unova leag
